Dee Karl: Isles Win 1st of 2 before Tonight's (Last) Home Opener Loud, proud and probably drenched.

Great game last night, well any game we win is great. I'm really sick over the fact that tonight will be the last home opener at the Coliseum...between the two jerks that created this mess, Charles Wang and Kate Murray, my take is venom towards them both. Without a doubt these two couldn't sit in a room for more than 5 minutes and discuss "keeping the Isles" on Long Island rather than moving to Brooklyn,,,sure Brooklyn isn't Kansas City, but it definitely isn't Uniondale. I've been a fan from Day 1, having held season tickets for most of those years...but let's face it, a trip midweek from Huntington to Brooklyn just doesn't make much sense, why? To do it I'd have to leave work around pretty darn early. And then the added cost. I've realized many have made the comparison of the Garden, and yes there's a strong comparison, but let's be frank whomever designed the Barclays never had hockey in mind...Ratner truly blew it...between the scoreboard on the blue line, sightlines that are terrible, I have to get back to my venom...Charles Wang and Kate Murray.

What were the line combo's?

Good start of the season and since they were a solid road team last year, they followed suit. Great positive of the game was seeing second line with Nelson emerging as number two center and Strome looking comfortable as well with Grabo. Kulemin looks like he can fit any line and of course Halak, Boychuk, Leddy also fit in as well. Conacher took his share of shots and even Bailey was showing some presence as well. Team is still pretty raw but should be fun to watch.

Most of the offense was driven by the PP and the second line. He looked good out there I thought however. He had a few shots on goal and was a pest. He should do well IMO. If he doesn't, Lee or Grabner will take his roster spot.

Oh that's right Grabs is hurt. Good roster. You guys are my #2 team since my fiance is from LI and the rest of my family is as well. I was born down here. Don't ask where she was born cause I couldn't tell ya.

EDIT: To clarify, my family was born in Brooklyn and are Ranger fans. I cannot in my good faith endorse them. So the Isles became my defacto #2 favorite team.
